My Vac Saver

Keep track of your vacuum-sealed food — what's in the bag, where it is, and when to use it — so nothing goes to waste.

How it works

Storage times

Times come from the USDA (FoodSafety.gov Cold Food Storage Chart and the FSIS FoodKeeper). Vacuum sealing keeps food tasting fresh and prevents freezer burn, but it does not make food in the fridge safe for longer, so fridge times are the USDA's. Freezer times are for best quality — food kept frozen at 0°F stays safe.

Fish: keep vacuum-sealed fish frozen, and thaw it in the fridge with the bag opened.
